Deeper Learning – Journalism
Grade 5 and 6 students have been working hard to write and share about their interests in the Deeper Learning Journalism class, taught by Mrs. Koschmeder.

In Hex 2 and 3, students experienced the feel of a busy newsroom with lots to do. They worked through the process of generating ideas, gathering information, conducting surveys or interviews, and crafting their article. Their article topics have covered hobbies, sports, holidays, popular food, places to visit, and more.

You can find these articles published on our very own Middle School Perspectives website. We are very thankful for two of Concordia’s current 8th graders, Andrew P. and Kyle Y., for creating this online platform to display student work. The goal of the Perspective project is to display student interests and unique talents, while also being a tool to foster an inclusive community. If you have a moment, you can view their Perspectives website and our students’ articles written in the Journalism Class.

The Hex 4 Journalism articles will be coming out towards the end of this Hex. So, be sure to check back to find even more fantastic student-driven writing.
