The Final Chapter
Milestones for Kindergarten
What a memorable few weeks it has been for our Kindergarten families! Our kindergarteners headed out on a wonderful adventure to Expo Cultural Park's Greenhouse Garden for their end-of-year field trip. A perfect way to bring their learning about living things to life in the most beautiful and immersive setting. Students explored the lush greenhouse, observed plants up close, and deepened their understanding of how living things grow and thrive.
They also took part in our special Step Up Day, visiting their future Grade 1 classrooms, meeting their new teachers, and stepping into the next chapter of their journey. Check out some photos below.
Please don't forget that our Kindergarten Promotion Ceremony is just around the corner on Friday, June 5. This is a milestone moment to celebrate your child's incredible journey through Kindergarten and their readiness to step into Grade 1.
End-of-Year Parties
The celebrations are coming! Our end-of-year parties are a wonderful opportunity to come together, reflect on an extraordinary year of growing and learning, and send our little ones off into summer with full hearts and big smiles. These are joyful, community-filled moments that our students absolutely love and we know our families do too.
Celebrating our Parents
We warmly invite all of our Early Childhood families to join us for our Final Parent Connect of the year, a special and heartfelt gathering to look back and celebrate together. Please make sure to RSVP.
Parent Tip of the Week
As summer approaches, we encourage families to maintain gentle routines that continue supporting children’s growth, well-being, and sense of security during the break.
Research shows that predictable routines, physical activity, healthy sleep habits, limited screen time, and regular reading experiences help children maintain important academic, social-emotional, and self-regulation skills over the summer months. While some regression during long breaks is natural, balanced routines can help children return to school feeling rested, confident, and ready to learn.
Summer does not need to feel highly structured, but children benefit greatly from a rhythm that protects:
sleep and rest
active play and movement
reading together
family connection
consistent routines
One especially valuable recommendation is to protect family game time whenever possible. Games help children develop important life skills such as waiting for turns, managing frustration, following rules, flexible thinking, and coping with winning and losing.
We are also including a few helpful resources for
creating visual summer schedules and routines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejTPBzCmwWM
games that strengthen executive functioning skills: https://developingchild.harvard.edu/resources/handouts-tools/activities-guide-enhancing-and-practicing-executive-function-skills/
Thank you for a wonderful year together. It has been a joy getting to know your children and families. We look forward to welcoming you back in August for another year filled with learning, growth, friendship, and adventure together.
Wishing your family a joyful and restful summer!
