CWEF visits G5 Classes

Concordia Welfare & Education Foundation equips young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to become servant leaders who will strengthen their own communities. Working together with local partners in China and Cambodia, we focus on several key areas — improving Access to Quality Education for children from low-income families, providing mental health support for Migrant and Left-Behind Children, and expanding access to Clean Water & Health Training.

Learning in G1

Lots of learning is happening in our G1 classes. Here are a few pcitures of how they are building a strong learning community together.

Appropriate Language Use in the ES

In the ES, part of providing a nurturing environment is modeling and teaching respectful language in all interactions on campus. We have intentionally communicated this expectation to students and families, including at Back to School Night. We appreciate our families' partnership in helping us build a strong, respectful, and supportive community. We are certain that you would agree that respectful communication helps create a safe, inclusive environment where all students feel valued, supported, and ready to learn. Together, we can reinforce these expectations and foster a positive school culture.

“Starbooks Book Tasting” Event

The ES Library hosted a “Starbooks Book Tasting” event where G2-G4 explored new books across eight different genres including nonfiction, mysteries, fantasy, graphic novels, and more. Students examined covers, read blurbs, sampled opening pages, and rated where each book “hooked” them enough to check them out later. This hands-on experience taught critical book-selection skills while sparking excitement about reading. Students gained confidence in selecting books independently and developed personalized reading lists to guide their future library visits.
