Attendance Policy Updates
As we continue to educate our parents and students, with email communication, we want to remind our parents that we are working with the current policy for attendance. We expect our parents, not students, to communicate absences for illness or long-term absences with the high school office. This communication allows us to document and explanation for the absence. As we continue to support our students, our goal is to ensure that they meeting our standards for academics as well as participating as a holistic student in their activities.
As a reminder, all student tardies or absences are considerd "Explained" not "Excused" when a parent communicates with the school. As all absences and tardies count, we want our students to understand why students are absent. This information is used when discussing attendance waivers or exceptions. However, all absences count towards the 15% attendance level.
Please take a moment to review the information shared in the email and attached here for more information on how the school supports students through out attendance policy: High School Attendance Policy 2025-26

Updates and Reminders
It is that time of year when all of our students bring their Apple laptops, Black Backpacks, Concordia Blue Hoodies, and Black instrument cases to school. We are starting to see students who are having items "stolen" or "taken". In most cases, these items are simply picked up by another student accidentally, thinking that the Concordia Hoodie was theirs. We encourage students to put their name on their items, or put something on their bag or case that is identifiable as theirs.
In the event that you do have an item misplaced, please have your child backtrack to the last places they had. Check in our lost and found areas and speak with teachers where they had the item. If they are unable to find it, please contact Everett Hill, Assistant Principal at: everett.hill@concordiashanghai.org for assistance.
