MS Updates and StuCo Articles for April 13 to 17
Welcome, or welcome back to the StuCo articles! I’m Sophia Lu, reporting on behalf of the StuCo members who have some exciting news for you!
<Parent-Teacher-Conferences>
Parent-Teacher Conferences are nearing us at the end of March, on the 26th and 27th. This conference is a good time to chat with your teacher about your child’s progress in class, as both you and the teachers would like to find a way to best support your child on their learning journey. The MS Secretaries will send an email to all MS Parents with a link to Microsoft Forms to book your hour at the Conference. The conference is held in the PC Gym, where each grade level has its own corner for your convenience. It is recommended that you bring your child with you, so they are clear about their future learning path as well. Should you have any questions, you may contact MS Secretaries.
<International Day>
Last Wednesday, we had a wonderfully planned International Day by the PSO, showcasing the many places each and every one of us is from. During International Day, the parents and teachers volunteer to serve delicious food from each of the countries, games, gifts, and performances. This year, we had a student-led booth led by the GIN which consisted of a fun game that encouraged us to drop off PET-Bottles, and they would draw out a bag of plastic and give many gifts to the lucky winner. This year, the PSO also incorporated a fun and educational game, where you go around the booths to answer questions on your paper, and drop it off at a separate table, ready to be drawn and gifts ready to be given received. I truly believe that this year’s International Day is one of a kind.
<Spring Break>
After the PTCs, there will be a spring break which all the students, faculty and staff a chance to relax and reset before the fourth quarter. The Spring Break begins immediately after your PTCs, until the 5th of April, when we return to school for another exciting season of school!
<Spring Social>
After the Spring Break, MS StuCo will hold a Spring Social, where students will get to watch (or perform!) in a talent show. We will also hold many games during the assembly, and students will get a chance to participate in many activities in many games after the kick-off. Continuing from Fall Social, students and teachers will be able to have a day of enjoyment, away from the routine of academics. We are excited to see your child there, smiling and enjoying themselves!
<StuCo Elections>
As we are nearing the end of the year, we will be holding StuCo Elections for students who volunteer themselves as the best choices for the student officers. This is a great chance to show your leadership, participation, and dedication to our MS activities every year. This year, the StuCo elections’ packets will be given out in late April, so students who would like to participate in Middle School activities as a student officer should begin to consider your campaign now!
That’s all for this week’s issue of the StuCo FOCUS Articles! Stay tuned for more news on events, released videos/newsletters and more!
