MS Weekly Updates and StuCo News for Sep 21 to 25

We leave for trips on Sunday (Grades 7 & 8) and Monday (Grade 6)! We hope all the students are excited and ready for a week of activities and experiences to introduce them to a new place in China, as well as strengthen relationships in our MS community. Each trip will provide students with unique activities to challenge them but also develop their understanding of China and their grade level.

We hope the students return with great stories to share with you and then can enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival and October holiday with family.

Virtue of the Month - Love

This month, we are focusing on the virtue of Love. In a faith-based community, love is more than a feeling or something reserved for family and close friends—it is a choice to see the worth and dignity of others and to respond with kindness, patience, compassion, forgiveness, and courage. As students explore what it means to love others, we encourage them to ask: How can I make someone feel seen? When is it difficult to show kindness? How can I love someone who is different from me? We will challenge our students to put love into action through the small choices they make each day—in the classroom, on the playground, online, and at home.

Parents can continue the conversation by looking for everyday opportunities to talk about love: Who might need encouragement today? What does it look like to love someone when you disagree with them? When has someone shown you love through their actions rather than their words?

Student Council Updates

Preparing for the MS Fall Social means choosing games and activities the whole middle school will enjoy. MS StuCo selects the best activities, gathers what’s needed, and runs the MS Social assembly, which includes a talent show and fun games for the MS community. We’re working to make sure everything runs smoothly because the social is a time for students to enjoy themselves. Students can vote on the movie and gym games and sign up to perform in the talent show. MS StuCo hopes everyone has fun!
