Message from Head of School
Welcome to Shanghai and to Concordia International School Shanghai for APAC Volleyball!
We are glad you are here.
APAC is a special opportunity for students from across our region to compete, build relationships, and represent their schools with pride. Volleyball requires skill, discipline, teamwork, resilience, and the willingness to trust and support the people around you.
At Concordia, we believe students grow best when they are known, cared for, and held to high expectations. We want young people to pursue excellence, encourage one another, and develop the character to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Our word this year is Belong. Belonging means being part of a community where people know you, value you, challenge you, and care about who you are becoming. APAC gives us a wonderful opportunity to experience that kind of community together.
While you are here, we hope you experience what makes Concordia special: high expectations, love and care, and a strong sense of belonging.
Compete courageously. Play as a team. Encourage generously. Enjoy the experience.
Welcome to Concordia, and welcome to APAC Volleyball!

Message from High School Principal
Welcome to Concordia International School Shanghai and to APAC Varsity Volleyball 2026!
We are excited to have you here at Concordia.
Athletics and tournaments like this are an important part of the international high school experience. They give students the chance to work toward a shared goal and to represent their school. They also bring together students from different schools who often share many of the same experiences of growing up and learning in international communities. Along the way, new friendships are formed and memories are made that can last long after the season has ended.
For each team, this tournament represents the culmination of months of work. Practices, matches, setbacks, and successes have all helped prepare you for this moment. Now you have the chance to see what that work looks like against some of the strongest competition in APAC. Tournament play will bring moments of excitement and moments that test your ability to respond. Both are part of the experience.
Just as important as how well you play is how you choose to compete. Volleyball requires trust in your teammates and respect for the people across the net. We hope to see that same spirit throughout the tournament. The way you carry yourself through close matches, difficult calls, wins, and losses says a great deal about you and the school you represent.
We are proud of the community at Concordia and hope you feel its warmth while you are here. Our students and staff are looking forward to hosting you and to sharing in the excitement of the tournament.
I hope you enjoy the competition and the time with your team. More than anything, I hope you leave proud of how you represented your school and with memories that will stay with you long after the final match.
Welcome to Concordia, and best wishes to all of our teams for a great tournament!

Message from Director of Student Activities and Sport
The gyms are ready, the teams are here, and we are excited to welcome AISG, SFS, TCIS, HKIS, and SAS Pudong to Concordia for APAC Volleyball!
APAC brings together some outstanding athletes, and we expect the volleyball over the coming days to be competitive, intense, and exciting. In those moments—when the score is close, the gym is loud, and every point matters—we also have the opportunity to demonstrate what great competition should look like. Play hard, celebrate your teammates, respect your opponents and officials, and represent your school with pride.
We hope the matches are memorable, but also that you enjoy the moments between them: reconnecting with old friends, making new ones, and sharing the experience with students and coaches from across our APAC schools.
To our visiting teams and supporters, enjoy Shanghai and make yourselves at home at Concordia. We are delighted to have you here and look forward to a fantastic few days of volleyball.
Good luck to all six schools. Let the competition begin!
Matthew Macinnes
Director of Activities and Sport
